"Sky Claims Land" / 2006 / Wood and Fabric
I recently became enamored with the idea of claiming the land in the name of the sky. I thought of myself as a flag bearer who through some absurd gesture might make people laugh or stop to question why there is a makeshift flag with an image of a cloud on it sticking into the ground. I hand sewed the flag and have been venturing around Pittsburgh claiming the land on behalf of the sky.
